* Use the mirrors well before you intend to change lane and direction through corners and bends.

* Generally, use them often to reduce blind spots and make it easier to judge speed and distance.

* Use the rear view mirror before you slow down to be aware of the gap between you and the driver behind especially when braking up to an amber traffic light - you could make the wrong judgment call !

* Check the rear view just before you accelerate, - a following driver may be alongside you!
